Established in 1995, the Eastern Mavericks District Basketball Club was formed through the amalgamation of the Murray Bridge Bullets and Mt Lofty Spurs, with the vision of creating a strong District Basketball Club for the Hills and Murraylands regions. What began through the dedication and collaboration of a passionate group of volunteers, players, and administrators has grown into a proud and community-focused club with a rich history and strong family culture. From its earliest years, the Club worked to establish pathways from junior basketball through to senior competition, laying the foundations for the program structure that continues today.
The Eastern Mavericks Basketball Club provides opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to learn, develop, compete, and enjoy basketball within a supportive and inclusive environment. From beginner domestic programs through to Junior District, Youth League, Senior District, and NBL1, the Club offers clear pathways for players at every stage of their basketball journey. The Club is committed to developing players both on and off the court by focusing on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, personal growth, inclusion, and gender equality. Eastern Mavericks welcomes and values people from all backgrounds and strives to ensure everyone feels respected, supported, and connected within the basketball community.
Over the years, the Eastern Mavericks have continued to grow through the dedication, determination, and discipline of generations of players, coaches, volunteers, and families. Whether participating socially, striving for representative basketball, or pursuing elite-level competition, all members of the Mavericks community play a role in the culture and identity of the Club. Built on strong values and a genuine sense of belonging, the Eastern Mavericks remain proud of their history and excited for the future.
