Transferring from Another District Club

A player who wishes to transfer to or from a club in the Basketball SA Metro & District (Junior, Youth League, Senior or NBL1 Central) Competition must receive a clearance

To join the Eastern Mavericks from another SA district club you must:

  1. Have an acceptance email from the Eastern Mavericks offering you a spot in a squad
  2. Send an email to all three contacts on the one email requesting a clearance from your previous club to the Eastern Mavericks and attach the letter of offer.

    4. Ensure all payments and uniforms have been returned to your previous club, wait for the clearance to be approved by both your previous club and Basketball SA.

 Please note:
– Clubs must then notify player & Basketball South Australia, within 5 business days of receipt of the decision. Failure to notify results in automatic clearance. Clubs can refuse, if players are unfinancial, holding equipment that belongs to the Club; or is under a formal contract agreed to and signed by both parties.
 
– Approval from Basketball South Australia. Players and clubs must have final confirmation from Basketball South Australia of the transfer before are eligible.
 
– The club must respond within 5 business days, either granting the clearance, or providing a reason why the clearance cannot be granted. The only legitimate reason for not granting a clearance is if the player is not financial with the Club or holding club equipment, or is under a formal contract agreed to and signed by both parties. Please be aware of business closures of Basketball SA and respective clubs.
