From Mini Mavs and junior programs through to senior basketball and NBL1, the Mavericks provide clear pathways for players to learn, develop, compete, and enjoy the game in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Mini Mavs
Ages 4-8 years olds.
Mini Mavs is the Eastern Mavericks’ introductory basketball program designed for young children to learn the fundamentals of the game in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment. The program focuses on developing basic skills, confidence, teamwork, and a love of basketball while providing the first step in the Mavericks pathway.
Commitment:
1 training per week.
Junior District (U10s – U18s)
Ages 5-17 year olds
Junior District competition is Basketball SA elite representative basketball competition. Eastern Mavericks fields teams from Under 10s to Under 18s, focusing on skill development and providing pathways for all players to achieve the highest level of success possible. There is an expectation that players will have a high commitment to the sport, the Club and their development. Games are played across metropolitan Adelaide, and players are expected to participate in carnivals and tournaments held locally, country, and interstate.
Entry into the Junior District competition is through trials, carried out in August each year. New and Domestic players are encouraged to attend. District squad placements are limited and highly sought after. Players who are not initially selected into a District squad are encouraged to join as a Pathway Player to continue developing within the Eastern Mavericks program and remain connected to future representative opportunities.

Youth League & Senior District (U21s – Open Age)

Our senior program fields teams in the U21s (Men) and U23s (Women) which are classed as Youth League and Open Age (Seniors) competitions, ranging from Division 1 (for those who wish to play competitive basketball) through to Division 7 (which is semi-social).

NBL1
Ages 16+ years old
Eastern Mavericks enters our most elite men’s and women’s players into Basketball SA NBL1 competition. Many players have come through the Eastern Mavericks junior pathway and are joined by carefully selected players sourced locally and internationally.
The NBL1 competition runs from March to August, and games are played on Saturday nights with some games Thursday, Friday, or Sunday. We encourage all members to support our top athletes by attending games and cheering from the sidelines.
