The Eastern Mavericks are seeking Expressions of Interest from coaches for the 2026-2027 season across junior, senior, representative, and development programs.
Head Coaches (Division 1 coaches) will oversee all teams and players within their allocated age group, which may range from one team through to six teams, implementing club wide style fo play, leading the overall development, culture, and direction of the program while supporting players, assistant coaches, and team staff throughout the season.
Division 2 coaches will be responsible for implementing the same style of play and team standards established by the Division 1 Head Coach, while also acting as a developer and facilitator for players progressing toward the Division 1 program.
Division 3 and 4 coaches may also take on Squad Coach responsibilities, which can include leading shared training sessions, supporting communication across teams, and assisting with conflict resolution and overall squad culture. Squad coaching is viewed as an important pathway toward becoming a Head Coach, as it demonstrates leadership, organisational, and communication skills within a broader program setting.
Assistant Coaches are strongly encouraged from parents, older siblings, and senior players. This role provides a valuable opportunity to observe experienced coaches, learn the fundamentals of coaching, and gain hands-on experience supporting team training sessions and game day preparation.
The EOI process allows applicants to outline their experience, qualifications, availability, preferred roles, and coaching philosophy to help the club identify coaches who align with the Mavericks’ commitment to player development, culture, and community.
